Customizing & Engraving Medal Backs

Written by Craig Davidiuk | 5/1/19 8:10 PM

When purchasing custom sport medals, there are a zillion options and upgrades to navigate.  The most common addition to our medals is engraving the back of the medal. Example "2020 Men's Division Champions".  We offer two ways to decorate the backs of your medals.

Laser Engraving

This process uses lasers to burn the surface of the metal. It changes the texture of the surface and allows for low cost and fast rendering of your required markings on any metal. The set up fees are much lower and it's a better choice for events with a lot of divisions. This is our preferred method and it's what we use on 99.9% of our orders.

Back Side Stamp

For some of our larger, repeat orders it's worthwhile to create a backside mold with the desired text. The advantage of this process is it allows for enamel fill. It makes the letters "pop" a lot more than laser. Overall it looks a bit more professional than laser engraving but is seldom purchased due to cost.
